Men's silver cross pendants: find the right size

A cross pendant that is too small gets lost on a broad chest. One that is too big pulls on the chain and turns. This page is about size: the real dimensions of our silver-tone crosses and how to match them to your build. Every pendant is stainless steel or titanium steel in a silver tone; silver is the color, not the metal.

Real sizes of our silver-tone crosses

Size by build

• Slim build or younger man: 30 mm. The minimalist cross in Small, or the cylindrical cross in Small.
• Average build: 43 to 48 mm. The medium minimalist cross, the slim cross or the hollow double cross.
• Broad chest: 50 mm and up. The large minimalist cross at 53 mm, or the crucifix pendant at 58 mm.

A practical test: hold a coin of about 3 cm against your chest, then picture it one and a half times larger. Most men land on the middle size.

Pendant size and chain width

The chain should carry the pendant without competing with it. A 30 mm cross is right on a fine box chain. A cross of 50 mm or more looks better on a stronger chain, such as a 3 mm box or a wheat chain. If you move a pendant to another chain, check that the bail opening fits that chain.
