Men's curb chain necklaces: the classic flat link, 4 mm to 18 mm
The curb chain is the base of most men's chains: oval links, twisted so they lie flat against the chest. It is simple, strong and easy to wear with anything. This collection gathers our classic curb necklace, the Cuban curb chains (a tighter, flatter version of the same link) and a cross pendant on a matching chain.
Everything here is stainless steel or titanium steel, either bare silver-tone or with gold-tone or black plating.
The classic curb: Heavy Curb Chain Necklace
Our Heavy Curb Chain Necklace is stainless steel, in polished silver-tone or gold-tone plating. The links are beveled and closely set for a smooth drape.

Curb or Cuban curb?
A Cuban is a curb whose links are flattened further and set tighter, so they form one continuous band. Choose the classic curb if you want a more open, flexible chain; choose a Cuban if you want a dense, uniform look. Our Cuban curbs run from the 4 mm Cuban Link Chain Necklace to the 18 mm Gold-Tone Cuban Link Chain. All of them are in men's Cuban chains.
Choosing the length
- 16" to 18": at the base of the neck. Best in narrow widths.
- 20": at the collarbone on most men. The safest choice.
- 22" to 24": on the upper to mid-chest. Good for 10 mm and wider.
- 26" to 30": low on the chest, over a hoodie or a heavy knit.
Wearing a curb chain
Alone over a plain T-shirt is the classic look. In 6 mm, a curb also carries a pendant well, since the links are open enough to let it move; the Classic Cross Pendant Necklace comes ready to wear on its own matching chain, about 23.6" (60 cm) long.
Care
Shower, gym, sea: steel can stay on. Rinse with clean water after the sea or the pool and dry it. Perfume and chlorine wear gold-tone and black plating over time.
