Width: why black needs a little more

Black absorbs light, so a black chain looks slightly thinner than a polished one of the same width. If you would wear 4 mm in silver-tone, consider 6 mm in black. If you want the chain to be the first thing seen, take 8 mm.

• 18": high on the neck, for a slim neck or a close look.
• 20": on the collarbone. The most common length worn alone.
• 22": just below the collarbone, room for a pendant.
• 24": upper chest, for a larger pendant or a layered look.
