Men's tennis jewelry: where to start
Tennis jewelry means one unbroken line of stones, each in its own small setting, so the piece flexes like a chain. For men, the easiest way in is the bracelet: it is smaller than a tennis chain, sits next to a watch, and reads as a detail rather than a statement. That is why our tennis line is two bracelets, in steel set with cubic zirconia.
How to judge a tennis piece
- The stones: ours are cubic zirconia, a lab-made stone cut with many facets. Say it plainly when you give it as a gift; it shines well and needs no special care.
- The setting: each stone should sit in its own prongs rather than share them with its neighbor. Both of our bracelets are set that way, in four-prong settings.
- The base: titanium steel or stainless steel. A steel base does not rust and keeps its shape.
- The width: 3 mm is discreet, 4 mm is the everyday middle, 5 or 6 mm is worn alone.
Our two tennis bracelets
| Piece | Base | Widths | Lengths | Tones |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cubic Zirconia Tennis Bracelet | Titanium steel | 3 to 5 mm | 7", 7.75", 9" | Silver-tone, gold-tone |
| Tennis Bracelet with Cubic Zirconia | Stainless steel | 3 to 6 mm | 6.75" to 9" | Silver-tone, gold-tone |
To size one, measure your wrist and add 0.5 to 1 inch. The men's tennis bracelets page goes through sizing step by step.
Wearing stones without overdoing it
One stone-set piece at a time is the rule that rarely fails. If the tennis bracelet is on, keep the neck plain: a simple steel chain, no stones. If you want stones at the neck instead, a stone-set Cuban such as the Cuban link chain with cubic zirconia does the job, and the wrist stays bare or gets a plain bracelet. All our stone-set chains are on the Cuban chains page.
Care
Shower, sea and pool are fine. Rinse with clean water after the sea or the pool and dry with a soft cloth, which also lifts soap film from under the stones. Remove it for heavy lifting so the prongs are not knocked. Perfume and chlorine wear a gold-tone plating over time.
FAQ
Is tennis jewelry for men?
Yes. A 3 or 4 mm tennis bracelet next to a watch is an easy, low-key way for a man to wear stones.
What are the stones?
Cubic zirconia, set one by one in steel prongs.
Do you sell tennis chains?
Not at the moment. For stones at the neck, see the stone-set Cuban chains linked above.
Is it a good gift?
It is, if you know the wrist size. If not, 7.75" suits a wrist of about 7 inches, and returns are accepted within 30 days. Shipping is free over $60.
