Thick Cuban link chains: 8 mm and up

A Cuban link becomes a thick Cuban around 8 mm. Below that it is an everyday chain; above it, it is the chain people notice first. This page covers only the wide end of our range: four Cuban chains offered at 8 mm or more, up to 18 mm. The four thick Cubans, side by side

8, 10, 12 mm or more?

• 8 mm: the entry into thick Cuban. Bold over a T-shirt, still fine with an open collar. The Cuban link chain necklace is the only one that offers black at this width.
• 10 mm: the classic heavy Cuban. The bold Cuban link chain in titanium steel is made only in 10 mm, with beveled links cut for a faceted look.
• 12 to 14 mm: a statement piece, best on a broad frame.
• 16 to 18 mm: the widest we offer. 16 mm on the silver-tone chain, 18 mm on the gold-tone Cuban link chain, which closes with a box clasp set with cubic zirconia.

Clasp and length on a wide Cuban

On a wide Cuban, the clasp carries the most strain. The silver-tone Cuban uses a box clasp with a safety latch; the gold-tone Cuban, a box clasp set with cubic zirconia. Check that the clasp is fully closed each time you put it on. For length, 20" sits at the collarbone, 22" just below. The wider the chain, the more a short length pushes it forward.

Care

Shower, sea and pool are fine. Rinse with clear water after salt water or chlorine, and dry between the links. On the gold-tone and black models, perfume and chlorine wear the plating over time.
