Marco Maveri sells classic chains in stainless steel. Italian link styles, measured to the millimetre, sold at the price of steel. Here is who we are, and who we aren't.
The habit we liked best
Watch the best-dressed men on any Riviera terrace, Italian or French, and you'll see the same thing. One chain. Fine. Under a linen shirt with two buttons open. It never comes off, and nobody comments on it.
The Italians have a word for that kind of ease: sprezzatura. Baldassare Castiglione wrote it down in 1528. It means doing something well and making it look like nothing. We didn't invent it. We just think a chain is the easiest place to practise it.
What we are not
We don't have a villa on the lake. There's no goldsmith grandfather, no workshop in Milan, no family secret.
Our chains aren't made in Italy. They aren't silver or solid gold. We won't show you a review count we don't have.
We'd rather say it on page one than have you find out on day thirty.
What we are
Marco Maveri is run from France by Amethyst Ventures, a small independent company. We choose every chain in our range, write every guide in our Journal and answer every email ourselves.
The chains are made in stainless steel by a manufacturing partner. Silver-tone pieces are bare steel. Gold-tone and black pieces have a plated layer over the steel. Each one is listed with its width in millimetres and its length in inches and centimetres.
Why steel
Because you shouldn't have to think about your chain. Steel doesn't rust and won't turn your skin green. The shower, the sea, a long summer: bare steel takes it.
And because steel costs less than gold, so do we. The elegance was never in the price anyway. It's in the restraint.

One chain is enough.
