24 inch men's necklaces: pendants that come ready to wear at 60 cm

A 24 inch necklace measures about 61 cm. On most men it hangs at mid-chest, which is exactly where a pendant looks best: centered, visible with an open shirt, and easy to tuck under a crew neck. Why 24 inches suits a pendant

A pendant needs room to hang flat. On a shorter chain, it sits on the collarbone and tilts. At 24", it rests on the flat of the chest, so the front of the pendant faces forward. The longer drop also balances a larger pendant: the 58 mm crucifix pendant necklace would look crowded at 20", but sits naturally at 24".

For a small, minimal pendant, 24" is also the easiest length to wear under a shirt. The bar pendant necklace disappears under a buttoned collar and shows when you open it.

Matching pendant and chain

• Small pendant (up to about 4 cm): a fine box or Figaro chain, like the Lord's Prayer cross or the slim cross.
• Large pendant (5 cm and more): a stronger chain. The Byzantine chain with crucifix is the most substantial here and comes in six lengths, from 22" to 31".

Materials and care
