Crucifix necklace for men: choosing the chain length

A crucifix is a large, meaningful pendant, and where it falls on your chest changes how it reads. Too short and it sits against the throat; too long and it disappears under a jacket. This page is about that one decision: the length of your crucifix necklace.

We make two crucifix necklaces, both in titanium steel, in silver-tone, gold-tone or black. One comes on a fixed 24" chain; the other offers six lengths.

Where the crucifix will sit

These positions are for an average build. On a broad chest or a thicker neck, the crucifix sits about one step higher, so add 2".

Which length for which wear

• Every day, under a shirt: 24". The Crucifix Pendant Necklace comes on a 3 mm, 60 cm chain, long enough to stay hidden under a closed collar.
• Over a t-shirt, visible: 24" or 26" on the Byzantine Chain with Crucifix. The pendant rests mid-chest.
• Over a sweater or hoodie: 28" to 31". Thick fabric pushes the pendant up, so a longer chain keeps it centered.

Chain and pendant balance

Care

Shower, sea and pool are fine; rinse in clean water after salt water or chlorine and dry. Perfume and chlorine wear gold-tone and black plating over time. 1-year warranty against defects and 30-day returns: if the length is wrong, you can return it.
