Thin necklaces for men: discreet enough for the office, a shirt or a suit

Why length matters under a shirt
A chain that is too short shows above a buttoned collar; one that is too long can slip out between buttons. For most men, 20" (51 cm) sits at the collarbone and stays under the top button; 22" (56 cm) sits just below. If you wear the necklace with a tie, go 22" so it sits well below the knot.
