A Franco chain necklace for a heavy pendant
If you own a large cross, a medallion or a heavy pendant, the chain matters as much as the pendant. A thin chain can kink, twist and flip the pendant around. A Franco chain does not. Its four-sided, tightly woven links make it the strongest pendant base we offer, and it keeps a pendant facing forward.
The Franco Link Chain Necklace is 316L stainless steel, in polished steel (silver-tone), gold-tone plating or black plating. Widths are 6, 9 and 13 mm; lengths are 22", 26", 28" and 30". The chain is sold on its own, without a pendant.
Why a Franco chain holds a pendant well
- It does not twist. The square profile looks the same from every side, so the bail sits straight.
- It spreads the weight. The interlocked V-links carry a heavy pendant evenly.
- It drapes in a straight line. The pendant sits centered instead of sliding to one side.
Choosing the size for your pendant

Our rule of thumb: take 26" for a pendant. At 22" the chain sits just below the collarbone and a large pendant can feel crowded. Also check that your pendant's bail opening fits the chain width before ordering: a 9 or 13 mm chain needs a wide bail.

Care
You can keep the chain on in the shower, at the gym, at the sea or in the pool. Rinse it in clean water after the sea or the pool and dry it. Perfume and chlorine wear the gold-tone and black plating over time, so put perfume on before the chain.

Does this Franco necklace come with a pendant?
No. It is the chain only, ready for the pendant you already own.
Will my pendant fit on a Franco chain?
It depends on the bail. Measure the inside of the bail and choose a chain width smaller than that opening.
What length is best for a pendant?
26" for most pendants. Go to 28" or 30" with a wide chain or a large pendant.
What if it does not suit my pendant?
You can return it within 30 days, and it carries a 1-year warranty against defects.
