Thick silver-tone chains for men: wide links in bare steel
If you want a thick chain you can wear every day without thinking about it, a silver-tone steel chain is the simplest choice. "Silver" here is the color: every chain is 316L stainless steel or titanium steel (a stainless steel alloy), polished to a silver tone. Polished, faceted or textured?
Silver-tone steel shows the shape of the link more than any color does, so pick the surface you like:
- Mirror polish: the polished cable link chain, with thick, rounded links up to 10 mm.
- Faceted: the bold Cuban link chain, 10 mm, with beveled links that flash in the light.
- Woven texture: the Byzantine chain or the titanium steel wheat chain, which reads as a soft, rounded rope.
Wearing a thick silver-tone chain
Silver-tone goes with a steel watch, grey and navy, and cold colors in general. Over a white T-shirt it reads clean; over black, more contrast. If you also wear a gold-tone ring, that is fine, but keep the chain and the bracelet in the same tone.
Care
Shower, gym, sea and pool are fine. Rinse with clear water after salt water or chlorine, then dry between the links. Warm water and a drop of mild soap remove skin oils.
