Men's jewelry bracelets: choosing your first one by type
Buying a first bracelet is easier once you know the five families a men's bracelet belongs to. Each one sits on the wrist differently, closes differently, and says something different. This page gathers all our men's bracelets, in stainless steel or titanium steel (a stainless steel alloy, not pure titanium), in bare silver-tone or with gold-tone or black plating. Start with the type, then refine. If you already know you want a chain bracelet, our men's chain bracelets guide takes you through link, width and length step by step.
The five types of men's bracelet
| Type | What it feels like | How it closes | Examples |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chain | Flexible, moves with the wrist | Lobster or box clasp | Cuban, curb, rope, wheat, Byzantine |
| Solid links | Structured, like a watch bracelet | Fold-over or concealed clasp | Keel, bicycle chain, geometric |
| Cuff and bangle | One rigid piece | Open cuff or hook clasp | Cable cuff, cross cuff, hook bangle |
| Cable | Thin twisted wire, light | Side-release or fold-over clasp | Cable with bar, cross inlay |
| Stones | A line of shine | Depends on the model | Cubic zirconia tennis bracelets, iced Cuban |
Which type for which man
You want something easy for every day
A chain bracelet in 4 to 6 mm. The Cuban Link Bracelet in Stainless Steel goes from 4 to 9 mm in 7", 8" or 9".
You wear a watch and want a match
Solid links look like a watch strap and sit well on the other wrist. The Bicycle Chain Link Bracelet copies the plates, pins and rollers of a real bike chain, in lengths from 6.25" to 10".
You want no clasp at all
A cuff slides on and stays. The Cable Cuff Bracelet adjusts once for a close fit.
You want it to be seen
A line of stones does the job. See our men's tennis bracelets, all set with cubic zirconia.
Getting the size right
Measure your wrist just below the wrist bone with a strip of paper, then add 0.5 to 1 inch for a chain or link bracelet. Cuffs and bangles are measured by inner size instead: check the product page, because a bangle does not adjust. Not sure? You have 30 days to return it.
Care
All our bracelets can go in the shower, at the sea or in the pool. Rinse them in clean water after salt water or chlorine and dry them. Plated finishes wear with friction, so a bracelet worn next to a watch will show it first there. Every bracelet has a 1-year warranty against defects.
Men's bracelet FAQ
What type of bracelet should a man start with?
A simple chain bracelet, around 5 or 6 mm, in silver-tone steel. It goes with everything and with any watch.
Which wrist should I wear a bracelet on?
Usually the wrist without a watch. A thin bracelet can share the watch wrist if it does not knock against the case.
How tight should a men's bracelet be?
Loose enough to slide a finger under it, tight enough not to slip over the hand.
