Cuban chain necklaces by finish: silver-tone, gold-tone or black
Once you know you want a Cuban chain necklace, the next decision is the color. Silver-tone, gold-tone and black do not look, wear or age the same way. This page compares the three finishes. For the full width and length guide, see our main men's Cuban chains collection.
A quick note on names: "silver" and "gold" on our product pages describe the color. Every Cuban here is stainless steel or titanium steel, either bare or plated.

Which models come in which finish
Silver-tone

Gold-tone

Black
The Cuban Link Chain Necklace in 4, 6 or 8 mm, in black-plated stainless steel. A quieter Cuban that still shows the link.
Mixing finishes
Match your chain to your watch or bracelet, or to your belt buckle if you wear no other jewelry. If you want to mix, keep one finish dominant and the other small, for example a gold-tone chain with a steel watch.
Care by finish
All three can go in the shower, the sea and the pool. Rinse with clean water after salt water or chlorine. On gold-tone and black, keep cologne off the chain and pat it dry with a soft cloth instead of rubbing.

The base is stainless steel, which does not turn skin green.
Which finish is best for everyday wear?
Silver-tone, because there is no plating to wear. Gold-tone and black work daily too, with a little care.
