Cuban chain necklace with a pendant: what works
A Cuban chain is usually worn on its own, but more and more men hang a cross, a medal or a pendant from one. It can look great, if the width, the length and the clasp are right. This page is about wearing a Cuban chain necklace with a pendant, using the six Cuban chains in this collection.

The Cuban Link Chain Necklace in 4 mm is the one we suggest for a pendant: present enough to look intentional, slim enough to let the pendant lead. It comes in silver-tone, gold-tone or black, from 18" to 24".
Length with a pendant
A pendant pulls the chain down and adds its own height. Choose 22" (56 cm) if you plan to add a pendant: it rests on the upper chest. At 20", a large pendant can sit too close to the collarbone. For a long cross of 5 cm or more, 24" gives it more room.
Matching the pendant to the chain
- Same tone: a gold-tone pendant on a gold-tone chain, silver-tone on silver-tone.
- Scale: the wider the chain, the bigger the pendant must be. A 30 mm cross gets lost on an 8 mm Cuban.
