Not every man wants a cross that everyone notices. Many want a little cross on a fine chain, worn under a shirt at work and visible only when the collar is open. This page is about that choice: the smaller crosses in our range, and how to wear them so they stay discreet.

Every piece is made of stainless steel or titanium steel and sold with its chain. Silver-tone pieces are bare polished steel; gold-tone and black are platings.

For a cross that stays truly hidden, the Cylindrical Cross Pendant Necklace in its Small size and the Minimalist Cross in 30 mm are the two to start with. The Slim Cross is a little larger, with beveled edges, and still reads as understated.

• Length: a 22" to 24" chain lets the cross sit below the second button, so it stays under the shirt when the collar is closed.
• Finish: silver-tone steel is the least visible through a white shirt. Black can show through thin fabric.
• Comfort: a smooth, rounded pendant like the Cylindrical Cross does not catch on fabric or press into the skin.

Care

A cross worn against the skin collects sweat and soap. Rinse it in clean water now and then and dry it with a soft cloth. It can stay on in the shower, at the sea or in the pool; rinse it after salt water or chlorine.
