Men's silver Byzantine bracelets: a woven link with depth
The Byzantine link, sometimes called a king's chain, is built from pairs of small rings folded through each other along the whole bracelet. Up close the weave is intricate; from a step away it reads as a soft, square rope. On the wrist it is rounder and more textured than a flat Cuban, and it catches light from every angle. This collection gathers our three silver-tone Byzantine bracelets.
"Silver" here means the color. All three are titanium steel (a stainless steel alloy, not pure titanium), in polished silver-tone, with gold-tone, black or two-tone options on some models.
The three bracelets compared
| Bracelet | Width | Length | Finishes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Byzantine Link Bracelet | 6 or 8 mm | 23 cm (9 in) | Silver |
| Byzantine Link Chain Bracelet | 8 mm | 8.75 in | Silver-tone or gold-tone |
| Geometric Link Byzantine Bracelet | 6 mm | 22 cm | Silver, black, gold, silver / gold |
The Byzantine Link Bracelet is the pure version: the woven link all the way around. The Byzantine Link Chain Bracelet is the wide 8 mm, with a matching 22-inch necklace sold separately. The Geometric Link Byzantine Bracelet alternates sections of Byzantine weave with smooth, engraved links.
6 mm or 8 mm?
A Byzantine link looks thicker than its width suggests, because it is rounded, not flat. So a 6 mm Byzantine already looks fuller on the wrist than a flat link of the same width.
- 6 mm: defined and easy to wear with other pieces, including a watch on the same wrist.
- 8 mm: substantial, with a confident weight. Wear it alone, with your watch on the other wrist.
Getting the length right
Byzantine bracelets are dense and do not stretch, so the length must suit your wrist. The 8.75-inch bracelet is a roomy size, for wrists of about 7.7 inches (19.5 cm). The 22 and 23 cm bracelets suit average to large wrists. Measure your wrist with a soft tape and add about 0.5 to 1 inch for a comfortable fit.
To wear the same link at the neck, see our silver Byzantine chains. For every other link in silver-tone, browse our men's silver bracelets.
Care
You can keep a Byzantine bracelet on in the shower, at the gym, at the sea or in the pool. The weave holds water and soap, so rinse it in clean water after the sea or the pool and dry it well. On gold-tone and black, perfume and chlorine wear the plating over time.
