Men's tennis bracelets: a single line of cubic zirconia
A tennis bracelet is a flexible row of small stones set side by side, with no gap between them. On a man, it reads as a thin line of light at the wrist: sharper than a plain chain, quieter than a wide link. Ours are set with cubic zirconia in steel, in a silver-tone or gold-tone finish.
There are two models in this collection, and both come in several widths and lengths. This guide helps you choose between them and get the size right.
The two models
- Cubic zirconia tennis bracelet: titanium steel, each stone held in a four-prong basket. Widths of 3, 4 or 5mm, lengths of 7, 7.75 or 9 inches. Natural steel or gold-tone.
- Tennis bracelet with cubic zirconia: stainless steel with four-prong micro settings. Widths of 3, 4, 5 or 6mm, and six lengths from 6.75 to 9 inches. Natural steel or gold-tone.
If you want the widest stone, 6mm, or an in-between length such as 7.5 or 8 inches, choose the second model.
Which width suits a man's wrist?
- 3mm: subtle. A fine line that sits easily next to a watch or another bracelet.
- 4mm: the most balanced width for daily wear on most wrists.
- 5mm: clearly visible, good on an average to large wrist.
- 6mm: the boldest option, best worn alone.
Stone width is also stone size, so a wider bracelet catches more light. If you plan to wear it every day at work, 3 or 4mm is the safer pick.
Getting the length right
A tennis bracelet should move a little, not slide down the hand. Measure your wrist just above the bone and add about half an inch (1.5 cm). For example, a 7-inch wrist usually fits a 7.5 or 7.75-inch bracelet. If you like a looser fit, add up to 1 inch. A bracelet that is too tight twists and puts strain on the settings.
How men wear a tennis bracelet
Next to a watch is the most common way. Put the bracelet on the side away from the hand so it rests against the watch case, and match the tone: silver-tone with a steel watch, gold-tone with a gold-tone watch. Worn alone, a tennis bracelet looks good with a T-shirt or an open shirt, and it can sit next to a plain chain bracelet for contrast. For plain metal options, see all men's chain bracelets.
Want some stones at the neck too? The Cuban link chain with cubic zirconia uses the same kind of stone on a Cuban chain.
Care for stones and settings
- Take it off for contact sports and manual work, where a prong can catch.
- Clean the stones with warm water, a drop of mild soap and a soft toothbrush, then rinse and dry well.
- Keep lotion and perfume off the stones: they leave a film that dulls the shine.
- Store it flat or in its own pouch so the stones do not rub against other jewelry.
- Check the clasp from time to time, and on gold-tone versions avoid abrasive cloths, which wear the plating.
Frequently asked questions
Can men wear tennis bracelets?
Yes. A 3 to 5mm tennis bracelet in steel is a common men's choice, often worn next to a watch.
What are the stones made of?
The stones are cubic zirconia, a lab-made stone with a bright, clear look, set in steel.
How do I size a men's tennis bracelet?
Measure your wrist above the bone and add about half an inch for a close fit, up to 1 inch for a looser one.
Which wrist should a tennis bracelet go on?
Either wrist works. Many men wear it on the watch wrist, between the watch and the forearm.
What if the length is not right?
You can return it within 30 days, and it is covered by a 1-year warranty against defects.
Is a tennis bracelet OK for a man?
Yes, worn alone or next to a watch it adds a clean line of shine. Keep it 3 to 4 mm for daily wear. Ours are steel set with cubic zirconia: the Cubic Zirconia Tennis Bracelet (3 to 5 mm) and the Tennis Bracelet with Cubic Zirconia (3 to 6 mm), silver-tone or gold-tone. See tennis bracelets.
Do chains with cubic zirconia stay on in the shower?
Ours can: the Cuban Link Chain with Cubic Zirconia is titanium steel set with cubic zirconia, and its page says it can stay on in the shower, at the gym and at the sea. To keep the stones bright, rinse and dry it, and avoid perfume and chlorine on the gold-tone version.
Tennis bracelet or Cuban bracelet for a man?
A tennis bracelet is a single row of stones, sharp and dressy; a Cuban is all metal, classic and easy daily. Dressy: the Cubic Zirconia Tennis Bracelet. Everyday: the Cuban Link Chain Bracelet. Both steel.
Can I wear a cubic zirconia bracelet every day?
Yes: our tennis bracelets are steel with set cubic zirconia. Wipe them after the beach or the gym to keep the stones bright, and avoid hard knocks. The Cubic Zirconia Tennis Bracelet (titanium steel) and the Tennis Bracelet with Cubic Zirconia (stainless steel).
