Men's Cuban link bracelets: widths from 3mm to 16mm
A Cuban link is a curb link that is twisted and flattened, so the links lock tightly and the bracelet lies flat on the wrist. It is the most recognizable men's bracelet: simple, dense and easy to read from a distance. Every Cuban bracelet here is stainless steel or titanium steel, in silver-tone, gold-tone or black.
With Cuban links, the width changes everything. A 3mm bracelet and a 16mm bracelet share the same link but not the same message. This guide helps you pick the width, the length and the clasp.
Cuban bracelet width guide
- 3 to 5mm, discreet: a fine line on the wrist, easy to wear with a watch. The Cuban link chain bracelet starts at 3mm and goes up to 11mm, at 22 cm (8.7 inches), in black, silver-tone or gold-tone.
- 6 to 8mm, everyday: clearly visible, still easy with a shirt. The Cuban link bracelet in stainless steel covers 4 to 9mm, in 7, 8 or 9 inches.
- 10mm, confident: the polished Cuban link bracelet is 10mm wide in titanium steel, in four lengths from 7 to 8.5 inches.
- 12 to 16mm, statement: wide, heavy-looking links meant to be worn alone. The silver-tone Cuban link bracelet runs from 6 up to 16mm, at 8.25 inches.
A simple test: if you wear a watch on the same wrist, stay at or below the width of the watch strap. If the bracelet is alone, choose by build. Larger wrists carry 10mm and up naturally. On a slim wrist, 6 to 8mm already looks substantial.
Length: a Cuban should not spin
Because Cuban links are flat, they look best when the bracelet stays face-up instead of twisting around the wrist. Measure your wrist above the bone and add about 0.5 inch for thin widths and up to 1 inch for 10mm and wider. Wide links take up more room on the inside of the wrist, so they need that extra length.
Lengths in this collection run from 7 to 9 inches depending on the model. Some widths come in one length only, so check the options on each product.
Clasps on a Cuban bracelet
Wider Cuban bracelets often use a box clasp, which sits flush with the links and keeps the line unbroken. The Cuban link chain bracelet with box clasp adds two side locks for extra security, in 6, 8 or 10mm (10mm in gold-tone only) and 7 to 9 inches. Thin Cuban bracelets usually close with a lobster clasp, which is lighter and easy to open with one hand.
Matching a Cuban bracelet with a Cuban chain
A Cuban bracelet and a Cuban chain in the same tone make an easy pair. You do not need identical widths: a bracelet equal to or one step wider than the chain usually looks balanced. See all Cuban necklaces in our men's Cuban chains, or read how to build the pair on our chain and bracelet sets page.
Caring for a Cuban bracelet
Dirt and soap collect between tight links. Every few weeks, wash the bracelet in warm water with a drop of mild soap, brush gently between the links with a soft toothbrush, rinse and dry. On gold-tone and black finishes, skip abrasive cloths: those colors are a plating over steel and can soften at friction points over time.
Frequently asked questions
What width Cuban bracelet is best for men?
For a first Cuban bracelet, 6 to 8mm suits most wrists and most outfits. Go 3 to 5mm next to a watch, and 10mm or more for a bold, standalone look.
Are Cuban link bracelets heavy?
Weight grows with width. Thin widths feel light, while 12mm and up have a noticeable weight on the wrist, which many men like.
Cuban link or curb link: what is the difference?
A Cuban link is a type of curb link with tighter, more rounded and flatter links. A classic curb has more open links and visible angles.
Cuban or tennis bracelet for men?
A Cuban is plain metal and works every day. A tennis bracelet adds a line of cubic zirconia stones for more shine. Compare them in our men's tennis bracelets.
