Silver Cuban Link Chain
Find your necklace length
Where a chain sits depends on its length. Here is how each length falls on an average build.
Measure at home in 2 minutes
You need a strip of paper (or a string or shoelace), a pen and a ruler.
- Take a string or a shoelace and mark on it the length you are considering, for example 56 cm (22").
- Hold the two marks together at the back of your neck, wearing the kind of top you usually wear.
- Look in a mirror: the lowest point of the string is where the chain will sit.
- Too high or too low? Try 5 cm (2") more or less: that is one size up or down.
Already own a chain you like? Lay it flat, clasp closed, and measure it end to end. A broad neck or chest makes every length sit a little higher.
No ruler? A bank card is 8.6 cm (3.4") long: count how many fit along your strip.
| Length | Where it sits | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| 46 cm (18") | Base of the neck | Choker look · layering base |
| 51 cm (20") | On the collarbone | Classic · everyday |
| 56 cm (22") | Top of the chest | Versatile · with a pendant |
| 61 cm (24") | Mid-chest | Statement · pendant-friendly |
Layering tip: pick two lengths 5–10 cm (2–4") apart so each chain sits on its own.

Finding your fit
This chain starts at 6 mm, already a visible chain. Choose 6 mm for everyday (necklace in 24" or 30" only), 8 mm if you want it seen. For a quieter line, look at the 4 mm Cuban necklace. 20" (51 cm) sits at the collarbone.
Why this link
The curb link is called grumetta in Italian. The Cuban version twists and flattens each link so the chain sits flat and catches light evenly. Worn alone or with the matching bracelet, it looks decided, not loud.
How to wear it
18" (46 cm) stays close to the neck, 20" (51 cm) sits at the collarbone, 22" to 24" falls on the upper to mid-chest, and 26" to 30" lower. The 6 mm is already a visible chain, 8 mm is made to be seen, and 10 mm and up is bold.
Wear it over a T-shirt; for a matched look, add the bracelet in the same width.
Living with steel
- Silver tone. This is bare steel. There is no plating to wear off. Shower, sea, gym: it can stay on. A soft cloth brings the shine back.
- What our warranty covers. Clasps that fail and links that break under normal wear, for one year. Normal surface wear isn't a defect, and we'd rather tell you now.
Shipping and returns
- Processed within 48 hours, then shipped with tracking. Delivery times by country are in our shipping policy.
- Free tracked shipping over CA$85. Below that, the shipping cost is shown at checkout before you pay.
- 30 days to return it, unworn and in its original packaging. Return postage is on you, unless the piece arrived faulty or wrong.
- 1-year warranty on clasps and links. Send us 3 or 4 photos and your order number. If it's a defect, we send a new one. No need to post the old one back.
Questions
Is this Cuban chain made of copper?
No. It is polished stainless steel in a silver tone, which does not rust and does not react with skin the way brass or copper can.
Does this Cuban chain come in gold?
No, it comes in polished silver-tone stainless steel only. For a gold-tone Cuban, see the Gold-Tone Cuban Link Chain, also offered as a bracelet.
Which length should I pick?
20 inches (51 cm) to wear it at the collarbone; it goes from 18 to 30 inches. If the length turns out wrong, send it back unworn within 30 days.
Is the 6mm Cuban chain enough for everyday?
Yes. 6 mm is already a visible chain and the everyday choice here; take 8 mm if you want it seen. For a quieter line, look at the 4 mm Cuban necklace.
How does the box clasp with safety latch work?
A tongue clicks into a box at the other end, then a safety latch closes over it, so the chain cannot open by accident.
Can I keep this Cuban chain on at the pool?
Yes. The silver tone is bare polished stainless steel with no plating, so chlorine has nothing to strip. Rinse it after the pool or the sea.
Is this Cuban chain a good gift for a groomsman?
Yes. A polished Cuban link in 6 or 8 mm looks decided, not loud, and you can add the matching bracelet in the same width.
