Where a chain sits depends on its length. Here is how each length falls on an average build.
Measure at home in 2 minutes
You need a strip of paper (or a string or shoelace), a pen and a ruler.
- Take a string or a shoelace and mark on it the length you are considering, for example 56 cm (22").
- Hold the two marks together at the back of your neck, wearing the kind of top you usually wear.
- Look in a mirror: the lowest point of the string is where the chain will sit.
- Too high or too low? Try 5 cm (2") more or less: that is one size up or down.
Already own a chain you like? Lay it flat, clasp closed, and measure it end to end. A broad neck or chest makes every length sit a little higher.

3 mm is the classic rope width. 20" (51 cm) sits at the collarbone, 22" (56 cm) just below, 24" (61 cm) mid-chest. It pairs well with a finer box or snake chain if you wear two.

Is the braided chain titanium or steel?
Titanium steel, a stainless steel alloy, not pure titanium. It is polished bare steel, so it does not rust or react with skin the way brass or copper can.

What should I layer with the 3mm braided chain?

Is a 3mm chain too thin for a man?

Can I put a pendant on it?
